Tasting notes
The shy, black raspberry aromatics of the medium to dark ruby-colored 1999 Vosne-Romanee Les Chaumes lead to its expansive, medium-bodied personality. It displays loads of cherries, raspberries, strawberries, and hints of oak in its fresh, zesty personality. Its finish is somewhat firm, but the tannins appear ripe and sweet. Drink it over the next 6-7 years. Importer: Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, CA; tel. (510) 524-1524.

Bright ruby-red. Spicy blackberry and blackcurrant aromas complicated by floral, animal and tarry nuances. Densely packed but bright, with lively acidity and well-defined fruit flavors. Nicely pliant and easygoing. Finishes with ripe tannins and a distinct component of sweet oak. Meo experimented with a bit of reverse osmosis on this cuvee, eliminating about 5% of the water.
