Score 88-90/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2006
Medium red. Sappy, complex nose combines strawberry, raspberry, cherry, rose petal, spices and herbs. Supple and sweet on entry, then drier in the middle palate, with herb-tinged flavors of red berries and spices. Conveys an impression of lower alcohol and finishes with a fairly serious tannic structure. In fact, this is a moderate 12.8% alcohol, with no chaptalization. Seems more 2001 in style than 2004.
