Made from a vineyard on an old cherry farm in one of the coldest parts of the Sonoma Coast AVA only in good vintages. Savoury notes of green olive mixed with red-cherry accents, a sea-salt crunch, and touches of graphite move into a long, lightly drying finish. This wine is all about structure. Give it air to open, and age to develop. (ECB)

The 2012 Syrah Cherry Camp is just as delicious as it was last year from barrel. Dark red cherry, plum, spice, lavender, smoke, tobacco and menthol meld together in a rich, fruit-driven Syrah that is already quite open and expressive. This dense, forward Syrah is ready to go.

The 2012 Syrah Cherry Camp possesses the highest degree of tart acids and crispness. Made in a Northern Rhône St.-Joseph style, it is a medium-bodied, elegant, fragrant, stylish Syrah from the Goldridge soils of this vineyard (originally a cherry orchard). About 50% whole clusters were used. Enjoy this cool-climate, French-styled Syrah over the next 5-6 years.

(12% whole clusters and 20% new oak): Inky ruby. A wild, intensely scented nose offers blackcurrant and candied violet plus hints of cola and smoked meat. Supple and sweet but with bright acidity energizing its dark fruit, floral and spicecake flavors. The smoky note repeats on the finish, which is firmed by youthful, fine-grained tannins and a jolt of dusty minerality.
