Score 94/100 · Drink 2021-2030, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Dec 2019
From 20-year-old Wente clones, the 2016 Chardonnay Allen Vineyard is very giving on the nose, offering quince paste, apricot, white pepper and pineapple notions with cheese rind, crème fraîche, lemon confit, honey-drizzled almonds and white flowers. Light to medium-bodied, it's minerally to begin, fleshing out to savory layers, lifted by juicy acidity and finishing insanely long and textured. 196 cases were made.
