Tasting notes
. Loads of wet pebble, crushed rock and tropical fruit characterize the 2013 Chardonnay Martinelli Road (327 cases), which is ripe, deep, and again, full-bodied. It should be drunk over the next 10 years.

The 2013 Chardonnay Martinelli Road is quite folded in on itself, with lovely energy and tension that is going to need some time to resolve. Slate, smoke, butter and rich yellow orchard fruits blossom in an ample, deep wine. The Martinelli Road is more in line with the house style than some of these wines, but at the same time, vineyard signatures aren't fully formed and the wine lacks some complexity.
About the producer

Martinelli is a Sonoma benchmark for vineyard-designate bottlings—wines built to highlight how strongly a single site can shape Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Zinfandel. Across the range, the focus stays consistent: small-production bottlings that feel distinctly tied to where they’re grown.
