Tasting notes
(15% whole clusters and 40% new oak): Deep ruby. Raspberry liqueur, Asian spices, cola and smoky oak on the seductively perfumed nose. Shows a distinctly lively character, with spice-accented red fruit and floral pastille flavors that stretch out and deepen with air. Focused, minerally and pure on the finish, showing just a hint of dusty tannins. Nicely plays its oak component off of its fruit--and there are no rough edges to get in the way of enjoying this pinot right now.

The 2012 Pinot Noir Alberigi comes across as a bit tense and taut, with less of the lifted aromatics and sheer immediacy of the Neblina or Laguna. It will be interesting to see if the Laguna blossoms a bit more with time in bottle. Gently spiced notes inform an expressive finish that shows some slightly angular contours.
