Score 92/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2009
Good full yellow. Subtle aromas of citrus oil, nuts, vanilla and minerals. Creamy and lush in the mouth, but less plump and sweet than the Morelli Vineyard bottling, with solid mineral reserves and spice perking up the middle palate. Ultimately broader and more complex, and longer on the back end. This represents winemaker Luc Morlet's selection of the best barrels: "In this way I was able to avoid the cooper I didn't like," he told me. This set of chardonnays was bottled in February of this year.
