Score 90/100 · Drink 2015-2030, Robert Parker, Jun 2013
This is a chewy, full-bodied, masculine Cabernet Sauvignon with lots of creme de cassis as well as some tannins lurking in the background. Obviously from a high-quality terroir given the purity, texture and richness, this is a heady, full-bodied wine that borders on being slightly coarse. However, I think that characteristic will age out in another 2-3 years. It should drink well for 10-15 more years. From a vineyard planted at the base of Napa Valley’s Mt. St. Helena, this wine, which I believe would have been made by David Ramey during this era, is a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc aged 19 months in French oak, 50% new.
