The 2014 Rosso Alberico lifts up with a bouquet of peppery herbs and florals, wet seaside stones and hints of sour cherry. It’s silky and pliant in feel, impressing with a rich display of ripe red currants contrasted by salty minerals and hints of spice, yet with a bit of a green streak beneath it all. This tapers off lightly structured but long, to hints of hard candies and rosy inner florals. While this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot is the product of the difficult 2014 vintage, it does a decent job of delivering a balanced and pleasurable experience.
