Score 94/100 · Drink 2021-2027, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Feb 2021

The 2008 Ontogeny Red Wine is a blend of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep garnet in color with a touch of brick, the nose is beautifully mature, featuring a fragrant perfume of sandalwood, clove oil, cedar chest, new leather and tobacco with a core of raisin cake, dried figs and preserved cherries. The full-bodied, richly fruited palate has a chewy texture and lovely lift, finishing with lots of mineral and savory nuances. 469 cases were made.
