Medium red. High-pitched aromas of red cherry, currant, spices and herbs; slightly warm. Round and silky but not overly sweet. Seems a bit soft for Clos Vougeot-or is this simply hiding its structure today? Finishes with suave tannins and good lift, and notes of redcurrant, tobacco and iron. This may well develop more complexity with bottle aging, but does it have the structure and grip to develop for a decade or more?
