Tasting notes
From the northwestern hillsides of Dry Creek Valley, the 2010 Zinfandel Lily Hill Estate possesses an opaque purple color in addition to a glorious nose of concentrated blackberry and black cherry fruit intermixed with hints of earth and spice. This big, thick, juicy, full-throttle effort is Zinfandel at the highest level. Consume it over the next 5-6 years, possibly longer. Tel. (707) 473-9171

(includes 9% petite sirah): Inky ruby. Pungent, vanilla- and smoke-accented aromas of black and blue fruits and violet, with a peppery topnote. Deeply concentrated but energetic, offering palate-coating blueberry and bitter cherry flavors that are sweetened by a vanilla note. Finishes with gentle tannic grip and very good, spicy persistence on the aftertaste of sappy dark berries. These vines were reportedly planted in 1915.
