Tasting notes
An incredible effort is the 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon Kenefick Vineyard, located in the northern end of Napa Valley, not far from Araujo's Eisele Vineyard. The wine exhibits an opaque purple color, and a gorgeous nose of blueberry and cassis fruit, intermixed with melted licorice, mineral, and smoke. Sweet and unctuously-textured on the attack, with full-bodied, powerful flavors that are remarkably harmonious, this Cabernet possesses a whopping degree of alcohol (about 15.9%) that is totally integrated and balanced. Look for this wine to evolve for 15 or more years. (Release date 11/01) Tel. 707-963-1774; Fax 707-963-8206

Saturated ruby. High-toned aromas of medicinal black cherry, espresso, licorice and mint. Juicy, youthful and intensely flavored, with surprising sweetness of fruit. Jammy cherry and licorice flavors nicely framed by firm acids. Finishes with slightly aggressive tannins.
