Tasting notes
The 2000 Syrah Que Syrah emerges from a vineyard planted at a 950 foot elevation above the fog line on the Sonoma Coast. It is reminiscent of an Alain Graillot Crozes-Hermitage. This dense ruby-colored Syrah offers aromas of dried Provencal herbs combined with creme de cassis, and tapenade. It is spicy, peppery, tangy, and tasty. It needs to be consumed over the next 3-4 years given its medium weight and moderate concentration. No telephone listing available.

Full red-ruby color. Raspberry, pepper, sandalwood and a dusty, gamey nuance on the nose. Juicy but tightly wound, with cool, rather Northern Rhone-like flavors of berries, pepper and minerals. Not a fleshy wine but has sound spine and good complexity. As with the riper, more vibrant '99, this syrah is in the style of a Saint-Joseph.
