Tasting notes
With a slightly higher Semillon percentage creating a richer, more concentrated profile, the 2023 On The White Keys Artist's Reserve offers ripe lemon, pineapple, spice, and sappy, minty flower notes. Based on 75% Sauvignon Blanc and 25% Semillon and aged in 100% new French oak, it's medium to full-bodied with a pure, layered mouthfeel, integrated acidity, and a gorgeous, layered finish. It's one of the finest Bordeaux Blanc-like blends I've tasted from Napa. Unfortunately, there are a scant 100 cases produced, but if you're lucky enough to find bottles, they should evolve beautifully for 10-15 years if well-stored. Drink 2025-2040.

The 2023 On The White Keys Artists Reserve takes things to another level. Ripe pear, lemon confit, white flowers and mint are some of the many aromas and flavors that take shape as the 2023 gradually opens in the glass. Seamless, with crystalline precision and breathtaking beauty, the Reserve dazzles from start to finish. All the elements are so well put together. Unforgettable.
Extended time in barrel is the primary difference between the 2023 On The White Keys Artists' Reserve and the regular bottling. The result is a bit more restrained fruit and hints of pencil shavings accenting lime-like citrus notes. A blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, it's medium- to full-bodied but streamlined and tightly focused on the palate, with exceptional length on the finish.
78% Sauvignon Banc, 22% Sémillon. 30% new French oak, 30% neutral French oak, 40% stainless steel. Medium lemon with a hint of green. Gunflint minerality with rich lemon curd. Grapefruit oil with a rich, layered palate, fresh acidity and a lavender-like floral character. Glycerol weightiness, with just a kiss of oak evident on the finish. Needs age. (SCJ)
