Tasting notes
Supple and spicy, with rich cassis, black cherry, cedar and vanilla aromas/flavours. A pretty wine, balanced and generous, with enough backbone for cellaring. (LM) $75

The 2004 exhibits deep ruby/purple fruit and an elegant nose of black currants, cedar, and spice box with a whiff of bay leaf and earth. It is ripe, medium to full-bodied, but overall, relatively elegant. Drink it over the next 10 years. Tel. (707) 967-8448
Good medium ruby. Aromas of black cherry, minerals and sweet butter. Pliant and sweet, with moderately nuanced flavors of black cherry and spicy oak. The wine's oak element, all French and 70% new, gives the finish a slight dry edge. From a vineyard on the west side of St. Helena. New winemaker Mike Hirby took over in time to blend this wine and to vinify the 2005.
