This domaine is really on a roll, having tamed its style notably over the the last decade. Deep crimson. Slightly toasty but concentrated and attention-grabbing nose. Lots of fruit and impact. No excess of oak. Full, rich, long and nuanced. (JR)

Ruby-colored, the 1999 Nuits-St.-Georges Les Boudots has an earthy spice and sweet cherry-scented nose. It is delicate, light to medium-bodied, and possesses pretty, nuanced cherry and black currant flavors. It has a slight hollowness in its mid-palate and a firm finish. Drink it over the next 5 years. Importer: Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, CA; tel. (510) 524-1524.
