Tasting notes
The 2015 Cabernet Franc is a big wine. Rich, sumptuous fruit is dialed up. This is a pretty extreme vintage for the Franc, a combination of both the vintage and the bigger style Tom Garrett favored back then. Even so, the wine has aged spectacularly well. If anything, it may need more time! Inky dark red, pomegranate and blood orange stain the palate. The 2015 is not at all subtle, nor does it exhibit a ton of varietal character, and yet it is drop-dead gorgeous.

Detert's 2015 Cabernet Franc is terrific. The flavors are really popping in this super-expressive Franc. Bright red cherry, raspberry and floral notes give the 2015 its distinctive freshness and brightness. This gorgeous, mid-weight wine is bursting at the seams with personality and pedigree. Classy and polished through and through, the 2015 will drink well upon release. There is so much to like here. In fact, I prefer the straight Cabernet Franc to the heavier and richer East Block.
