Tasting notes
Matured for 15 months in 63% new oak, the 2022 Pinot Noir Terra de Promissio Vineyard is fantastically perfumed! Scents of blackberry and pomegranate liqueur mingle with accents of conifer forest, Angostura bitters and hibiscus. The palate is elegantly styled with complex, detailed flavors. It’s structured by finely astringent tannins and vibrant acidity and has a long, spicy finish. 525 cases were made.

Medium ruby red, the 2022 Pinot Noir Terra de Promissio Vineyard offers aromas of savory mineral and forest aromas of juniper spice, rosemary, small dark berries, and black raspberry liqueur. Fantastic and bright, it reveals great tension with a citrus note through the palate, a light sanguine texture, and mouthwatering length. It’s long on the palate and is only going to improve with another year or more in cellar. Drink 2026-2040. These are the spring releases from Williams-Selyem and were tasted with Vice President and Director of Winemaking Jeff Mangahas at the estate in the Russian River Valley.
About the producer
Williams Selyem is an iconic Russian River Valley winery best known for its Pinot Noir. Producing restrained yet classically Californian expressions of the heartbreak grape (as well as a host of other wines), the property has gone from pioneer to one of the region’s standard-bearers.
