(from 35-to-40-year-old vines cropped at a ton an acre in York Creek) Saturated ruby-purple color. Highly nuanced, urgent nose combines black cherry, blueberry, game, chocolate and tar. Dense and thick, with penetrating, urgent flavors of crushed black and blue fruits. Boasts terrific verve and a distinctly syrah-like structure. Finishes with huge but ripe tongue-coating tannins.
