Tasting notes
At this stage, the 2020 Pinot Noir Block 8 seems to have escaped impact from the season's devastating heat and wildfires. It has complex aromas of strawberry jam, rhubarb, hibiscus, black tea, mushroom and mossy bark. The medium-bodied palate is silky and refreshing and boasts highly concentrated flavors and a very long, perfumed finish.

The 2020 Pinot Noir Block 8 is an opaque deep ruby and offers aromas of licorice, blackberry, and black cherry. It’s full-bodied, and really expressive on the palate, with fine tannins, refreshing acidity, and rich concentration for the range, with notes of burnt orange, forest earth, and tea leaf. It drives through the palate with notable structure and commands another few years in the cellar. Drink 2025-2035.
The 2020 Pinot Noir Block 8 is another impressive wine in this range. Black cherry/plum, mocha, licorice, spice, menthol and leather are front and center. This powerhouse Pinot packs a serious punch. Here, too, the Block 8 will benefit from time in bottle. There is some aggressiveness in the tannin, but that is the vintage.
So much iron and terra cotta with volcanic salt and red fruit. Full body, bright acidity and a vivid, linear finish. Really spicy and characterful. Drink or hold.
