Tasting notes
The entry-level Sauvignon Blanc from this family, the 2019 Sauvignon Blanc Les Petits Morlet reveals a vivid gold hue and textbook, crisp yet also rich aromas and flavors of buttered lemons, hazelnuts, chalky minerality, honeysuckle, and white flowers. With bright, almost racy acidity, beautiful depth of fruit, and medium-bodied richness, this has some solid heft and richness and will shine on the dinner table. It's a brilliant Sauvignon to enjoy over the coming 2-4 years.

This is Morlet’s “second” Sauvignon Blanc label, produced from the barrels that didn’t make the cut for the final blend of La Proportion Doree. It is mainly Sauvignon Blanc (85%) from the same vineyard as La Proportion Doree with a little Semillon (15%). A barrel sample, the 2019 Sauvignon Blanc Les Petits Morlet races out of the glass, delivering bold scents of Bosc pears, lime cordial and fresh grapefruit with hints of orange peel and wet pebbles. The medium to full-bodied palate has intense citrus flavors with a lively line and pleasant oiliness to the texture, finishing chalky. 350 cases are due to be made.
