Score 95/100 · Drink 2020-2035, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Jan 2020

Blended of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Petit Verdot and 8% Cabernet Franc, the deep garnet colored 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon leaps from the glass with classic notes of warm cassis, plum preserves, cedar chest and pencil lead with underlying accents of kirsch, chocolate mint, unsmoked cigars and yeast extract. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers a lot of freshness and energy, with layers of black fruit and earthy hints supported well by firm, ripe, grainy tannins and tons of freshness, finishing long and savory.

Bright medium ruby. Pure but reticent aromas of blackberry, licorice and minerals. Savory, pure and penetrating but tactile too, with enough sweetness of fruit to give it plenty of appeal today. Finishes with rather suave, nicely buffered tannins, a slight medicinal hint and lovely length. Has the pliancy to be enjoyed now. (ST)

The 2009 Cabernet Franc impresses for its layered, finessed personality. Sweet herbs, roasted coffee beans, licorice and succulent cherries are all woven together in this subtle, refined red. The 2009 can be enjoyed relatively young, yet appears to have the potential to develop considerably in bottle. In 2009, the blend is 75% Cabernet Franc and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon.

(blended with 12% petit verdot and 8% cabernet franc): Ruby-red. Blackberry, licorice, minerals and chocolate on the nose, plus a whiff of shoe polish. Dense, spicy and nicely delineated, with excellent intensity to the dark cherry and mineral flavors. Firmly structured cabernet with granular tannins and a suggestion of medicinal reserve. This will need at least four or five years of bottle aging.
