Tasting notes
The 2016 Chardonnay Bootlegger's Hill was aged 15 months in 50% new French oak. It opens with singular notions of petrichor, candied lime peel, beeswax and a petrol note with a core of quince, spiced apples and peaches plus accents of grated nutmeg and floral perfume. The palate is light to medium-bodied and silky with explosive, spiced fruit layers countered by mouthwatering acidity and finishing long and perfumed. Wow! This is a very unique expression of Chardonnay. 200 cases were made.
