Score 90/100 · Drink 2003-2007, Robert Parker, Dec 2003

The medium-bodied 2001 Pinot Noir Russian River exhibits a dark ruby color as well as complex aromas of sweet forest floor, damp earth, raspberries, red currants, and dried herbs. Enjoy it over the next 3-4 years. All things considered, 2001 and 2002 are the finest back-to-back vintages I have tasted from Williams-Selyem. Tel. (707) 433-6425; Fax (707) 433-6546

Medium red. Slightly dull aromas of roasted red fruits and mint. Offers decent intensity and freshness, but seems a bit clenched and lacking in pliancy and nuance. Hints of cherry and strawberry emerged with aeration.
