Another new wine in Vineyard 29's Cru lineup, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Cru Oakville is juicy, open-knit and wonderfully seductive. Ripe dark cherry, plum, chocolate, spice and coffee all meld together, with soft contours and polished, silky tannins that wrap it all together. This forward, juicy Cabernet will drink well for the next decade or so. The Oakville Cabernet is a blend taken mostly from Rancho Pequeño and Ashe.
A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Malbec, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Cru offers up seductive notes of warm cassis, plum preserves and blueberry compote with hints of chocolate mint and candied violets with a touch of tapenade. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegantly styled and refreshing, with plenty of crunchy black fruits and a grainy texture, finishing with an herbal lift.
