Score 89/100 · Drink 2010-2020, Robert Parker, Dec 2010

The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Cru (82% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Petit Verdot, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec) is made in a softer, more seductive style than the Vineyard 29 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by sweet aromas of black cherries, black currants, tobacco leaf, coffee and spice. Round, medium-bodied and delicious, it should drink well for 7-10 years. Proprietors Chuck and Ann McMinn have added another wine to their portfolio of Cru wines. The Cru offerings, which are made from purchased fruit, are meant to be stylish Napa Valley wines that sell for reasonable prices. Presumably, they are aimed at both consumers and restaurants looking for a very good Napa wine that won’t break the bank. Tel. (707) 963-9292; Fax (707) 963-7848
