Tasting notes
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Cru is a darker, more smoky, backward effort. Currants, scorched earth, roasted herbs, tobacco, and chocolate notes give way to a medium to full-bodied, nicely balanced 2017 that has present yet ripe tannins and a great finish. It's going to keep for over a decade.

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Cru is an attractive wine to drink now and over the next few years. As always, Vineyard 29 does a terrific job making Cabernet Sauvignon at an affordable price. Sweet tobacco, cedar, mint, licorice and dried flowers grace this expressive, open-knit Cabernet. I would prefer to drink it on the early side.
Blended of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Cru is deep garnet-purple in color with baked black and blue fruit, earth, herbs and camphor notes with dusty soil. The palate is medium-bodied, hollow and chewy with an abrupt finish.
