Another dark, powerful wine, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate struggles to emerge from beneath a wall of serious tannin. Black cherry, plum, mint and new leather are some of the signatures. Hints of raspberry jam, pomegranate and blood orange add shades of complexity. Readers will have to be patient, as the tannins are imposing.

A dramatic, explosive wine, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate saturates the palate with notable depth and pure, unbridled power. Graphite, smoke, menthol, leather and licorice wrap around a core of intense dark fruit, with notable support from a firm tannic spine. The rich, voluptuous finish holds considerable appeal, but the 2013 is likely to require at least a few years to fully come together.
