Tasting notes
The 2012 Chardonnay Porter-Bass Vineyard is a real showstopper. Graphite, smoke, slate, lemon peel, white flowers and crushed rocks abound. In 2012, the Porter-Bass presents a distinctly Burgundian profile, with slight elements of reduction (in a good sense) allied to palpable energy. Readers who enjoy focused, tense Chardonnays will adore the 2012 Porter-Bass.

Greenish yellow. Heady aromas of ripe citrus fruits, pungent flowers, smoky minerals and iodine, with a hint of sweet butter in the background. Rich and expansive but focused as well, offering intense Meyer lemon and pear flavors complemented by notes of anise and toasted grain. Finishes stony and very long, with resonating spiciness and excellent clarity.
