Made with 100% whole clusters in 2012, the 2012 Pinot Noir Skyline Vineyard offers lots of raspberry and kirsch-like nuances intermixed with plenty of mulled spices, dried flowers and crushed rock-like minerality. On the palate it's supple, medium to full-bodied and gorgeously textured, with integrated acidity, a solid core of sweet fruit through the mid-palate, and outstanding length on the finish. Already approachable, this elegant, seamless Pinot Noir will still benefit from short-term cellaring and have 10-15 years of overall longevity.

100% stems for this wine, and for Home Vineyard and Alpine Vineyard also. Vegy, sumptuous savoury nose. Very dry finish and depth. Sinewy and structured. Kevin Harvey thinks of this as his most exotic site. (JR)

An intensely floral and expressive nose offers up notes of black cherry, anise and raspberry liqueur-like scents. There is good detail and the same beguiling mouth feel to the mid-palate of the middle weight flavors that exude a fine bead of minerality onto the moderately firm, dusty and gorgeously balanced finale. This is quite reserved at present and will definitely need time as it is quite backward. That said, this should deliver the goods if you have the patience to wait. *Outstanding*

An utterly magnificent wine, the 2012 Pinot Noir Skyline Vineyard is even more compelling from bottle than it was from barrel. Pine, menthol, dried red cherries and rose petals meld effortlessly into a core of a dark, red-toned fruit as this complex, kaleidoscopic wine shows off its pedigree. The Skyline plays across all dimensions, with expressive, high-toned aromatics and deep layers of fruit supported by insistent structure. Hints of leather, smoke, mint and licorice add nuance on the chiseled finish. This is a magnificent showing from Rhys. The 2012 Skyline was vinified with 100% whole clusters. (AG)
