Score 90-93/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous

Saturated ruby-red. Black cherry, minerals and tar on the slightly medicinal nose. Densely packed, tight and unevolved but not at all austere; boasts a compelling sugar/acid balance that suggests it will age well. Cool, sharply delineated, strongly mineral flavors. The tannins are slightly tough but hit the palate late, and the subtle finish lingers impressively.
