Tasting notes
Full bottle just 1,225g. Labelled 'Cellared & bottled by Williams Selyem' – meaning bought-in fruit? Transparent crimson. Pale rim. Meaty, sweet and jewelly. Definitely sweeter than the DuMOL 2020 Pinot. But no obvious smoke taint! And it should please those who seek a lively example that is obviously from the Russian River Valley rather than Burgundy. From one of the first iconic producers of the AVA, and one that played a part in inspiring the winemaker at Danbury Ridge in England . (JR)

The 2020 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley is packed with confected violet, macerated strawberry, and root beer spice. The palate is fleshy and ripe, with red cherry, turned soil, and cedar. Drink it over the next 8 years.
About the producer
Williams Selyem is an iconic Russian River Valley winery best known for its Pinot Noir. Producing restrained yet classically Californian expressions of the heartbreak grape (as well as a host of other wines), the property has gone from pioneer to one of the region’s standard-bearers.
