As to the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville, it's another awesome wine from this estate. More pure cr me de cassis, smoked tobacco, graphite, and new leather notes define the aromatics, and it's a more focused, inward wine compared to the more showy Cabernet Franc, offering medium to full-bodied richness, flawless overall balance, ripe, focused tannins (which are very different from the more velvety tannins in the Cabernet Franc), and a gorgeous finish. This deep, layered, incredibly complete Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon will evolve for two decades or more. It will ideally be given another 2-3 years in the cellar.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is another fabulous wine from Detert. It is a bit reticent today, but that should not be an issue in time. This classically-built, medium-bodied Napa Valley Cabernet offers tons of depth as well as structure. It's another super example of this sector of Oakville. The 2019 is not an immediate wine, though, so readers should plan on being patient.
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is super-expressive. A wine of stature, the 2019 impresses for its depth and pure palate presence. Inky dark fruit, cloves, new leather and licorice meld together in an imposing, beautifully layered Cabernet loaded with potential. This is an impressive showing.
