A background application of wood sets off the notably spicier red and dark currant aromas that possess additional hints of briar, floral and tea. I very much like the mouth feel of the medium weight flavors as the supporting tannins are quite fine-grained yet sufficiently dense to make clear that this should repay extended cellaring if desired. The 2016 Pinot Noir Westside Road Neighbors is pretty and gracious, with lovely red berry fruit and lifted, floral aromatics. I would prefer to drink this understated, mid-weight Pinot over the next handful of years. Silky tannins round out the soft yet subtly persistent finish.
The 2016 Pinot Noir Westside Road Neighbors is pale to medium ruby-purple in color with a nose of crushed black cherries, pomegranate and mulberries with touches of spice box, menthol and forest floor plus a waft of potpourri. Medium-bodied, it fills the palate with black and red berries and earthy layers, framed with ripe, grainy tannins and nicely balanced freshness, finishing long and perfumed. 1,183 cases produced.

Williams Selyem is an iconic Russian River Valley winery best known for its Pinot Noir. Producing restrained yet classically Californian expressions of the heartbreak grape (as well as a host of other wines), the property has gone from pioneer to one of the region’s standard-bearers.
