Tasting notes
Vivid magenta. Highly perfumed, mineral-tinged aromas of ripe red and blue fruits, cherry-cola and succulent flowers expand with aeration. Offers palate-staining raspberry liqueur, cherry pie and boysenberry flavors that are accompanied by a lavender pastille nuance and hints of woodsmoke and licorice. Rich but extremely lively as well, showing impressive back-end thrust, youthfully chewy tannins that add shape and firm grip to clinging berry and cherry notes.

Sweetly fruited, opulent, and a hedonistic bomb, the 2017 Rising Tides (64% Grenache, 28% Syrah, 8% Carignan) gives up loads of sweet strawberry and blackberry fruit intermixed with notes of spice, incense, and peppery herbs. Ripe, flamboyant, seamless, and straight-up silky and sexy, it should keep for 7-8 years, yet I see no need to delay gratification on this one.
