The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Freddy’s Cuvée, no doubt an homage to the late Fred Constant, seems slightly less impressive than their basic Cabernet, but it’s a whopper of a wine. It’s big, rich, full-bodied, impressive, and obviously built for long-term aging. It will be interesting to taste this and the Cabernet Sauvignon over the next 30+ years. This wine will not disappoint anybody, but patience will be required. Give it at least a decade.

Smoke, cured meats, pomegranate and wild herbs are some of the notes that are pushed forward in a wine that brings together opulence and structure. Readers will have to be patient, but the 2013 is shaping up to be a jewel of a wine.
