Tasting notes
The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Cyrus Ryan Vineyard is dark, immediate and also quite juicy for the year. Plum, black cherry, smoke, licorice and leather all flesh out in a dense, inviting wine with tons of early appeal. Sweet floral and spice notes add an attractive element of lift on the close.

The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Cyrus Ryan Vineyard (a two-acre parcel on the Napa Valley floor, just off the Silverado Trail north of St. Helena) reveals an open-knit, raspberry, floral and black currant-scented nose, medium body, sweet tannin, moderate levels of extract and concentration, and impressive purity. Not a blockbuster, it is a stylish, finessed wine to enjoy over the next 10-15 years. As hard as it is for me to believe, Barnett Vineyards is celebrating their 30th anniversary, having jumped into the winemaking business at their beautiful estate high on Spring Mountain in 1983. Tel.
