Score 94/100 · Drink 2016-2036, Robert Parker, Dec 2015

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Cyrus Ryan comes from a valley floor vineyard just north of St. Helena. This wine aged in 90% new oak for 20 months prior to bottling. Beautiful blueberry and blackberry fruit, licorice, chocolate and spice are all present in this wine made from fairly low yields, but is a classic valley Cabernet Sauvignon with sweet tannin, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and impressive purity and potential. Accessible now, this should evolve for another two decades.
