Score 92/100 · Neal Martin, Vinous, Nov 2009
Where did this come from? A replacement bottle for the corked ’87 and one or two guests voted the ’82 wine of the night – some achievement give its company. It has a dark garnet core with brick rim. The nose is fresh, harmonious and very natural with eucalyptus, cedar and blackberry leaf. Lovely definition. The palate is fresh right from the start, vibrant acidity, fig-tinged black fruit with black plum, wild mushroom and a touch of game. There is something Rhone-like about this lovely Martha’s Vineyard that exceeds expectations. Drink now-2016. Tasted May 2009.
