Tasting notes
The 1996 Tokaji Szt. Tamás 6-Puttonyos has a similar bouquet to the Betsek, sharing that scent of pressed flowers, but with more fruit intensity – satsuma, quince and strawberry – and a touch of linseed later on. The ripe palate is more powerful and intense than the Betsek, although it does not possess the same precision, especially on the finish. This is more muscular and structured and perhaps will age better in bottle. Tasted at the Royal Tokaji Company tasting in London.

RS 162 g/l, TA 10.6 g/l. First growth. Rich and complex on the palate with cooked fruit and a lovely cereal aroma. Excellent intensity and profundity. Has a sense of completeness that combines perfect structural balance and compressed fruit as well as a lush caramel aftertaste. (RH)
