The 2021 Barolo Bricco San Pietro Vigna d'la Roul is a powerful wine with strong savory, earthy notes. Fruit is very much in the background. Dried herbs, menthol, licorice, tobacco and incense are front and center. This virile Barolo is quite intense. It will be interesting to see if the fruit emerges with more time in bottle.

A restrained and spicy Barolo with aromas of dried flowers, licorice, stone fruit and cherry jelly. This is firm on the palate, with dusty tannins, fruit concentration, a full body, crisp acidity and a tight, chewy, balanced finish. Try from 2026.
