Score 92-94/100 · Drink 2020-2035, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2017

The 2016 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru is a one-off blend of parcels located in Les Feusselottes, Combottes, Chatelot, Gruenchers, Les Plantes and Chabiot that were devastated by the frost. They yielded 13 hectoliters (or six barrels) from a total of 1.6 hectares. It includes 50% whole-bunch fruit and was raised in 50% new oak. It has a very attractive bouquet with cranberry, pomegranate, wild strawberry and cold stone aromas, a touch of sous bois emerging with time. The palate is very smooth and silky in texture, abundant sweet red fruit laced with blood orange and marmalade, leading to a harmonious and quite sensual finish that does those vineyards proud. Maybe more approachable than some of Felettig's other cuvées, it nevertheless has the substance to provide long-term drinking pleasure.
