Tasting notes
Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2016 Clos Vieux Taillefer delivers notions of baked red and black plums, blackberry compote and mulberries with touches of beef drippings, black olives and Indian spices. Full, firm and chewy in the mouth, it fills the palate with black fruit preserves, finishing with an herbal lift.

Plenty of cassis, black raspberry, leafy herbs, and damp earth notes emerge from the 2016 Clos Vieux Taillefer, a charming, layered, supple Pomerol that's already drinking beautifully. With good overall balance and fine tannins, drink it over the coming 7-8 years.
Seriously beautiful spiced-plum, chocolate and earthy aromas here with a plush, velvety palate that is brimming with attractive fruit, dressed in spicy oak. Great Pomerol. Drink or hold.
Gracious and light on its feet, the 2016 Clos Vieux Taillefer has a lot to offer. Freshly cut flowers, sweet red berry fruit, mint and chalk notes abound. A light vegetal note underpins the fruit, but is not intrusive enough to be hugely distracting. I very much like the energy here. The blend is 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Tasted two times.
