Score 88/100 · Drink 2002-2015, Robert Parker, Aug 1999
A tightly-knit, young but promising Cabernet Sauvignon, Altamura's 1995 exhibits a dark ruby/purple color as well as an attractive nose of licorice, black currants, and spicy new oak. Rich, with sweet fruit, firm tannin, and a dusty, gritty finish, this wine's tannin will become better integrated with several years in the bottle if my instincts are correct. The fruit is pure and vibrant. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2015. Tel. (707) 253-2000

Bright, saturated ruby-red. Aromas of blackberry, carob, mocha and nutty oak. Juicy and fairly intensely flavored, but a bit dry in the middle. The persistent finish features a strong note of bourbon from the oak treatment.
