The 2000 Amarone Pergole Vece is made from a selection of the estate's best fruit and given three years in French oak. It is a beautifully expressive and persistent wine loaded with plum, sweet toasted oak, spices, dried fruits and tobacco. Although there is an attractive plumpness to the wine its somewhat advanced personality suggests that it will offer its finest drinking over the next few years. Pergole Vece is a blend of 70% Corvina, 10% Rondinella and 20% Croatina, Cabernet Sauvignon and other varieties.
