2014 Barolo Vigneto Albarella

The 2014 Barolo Albarella is fabulous. Succulent black cherry, lavender, graphite, spice, new leather and menthol all flesh out in the glass. Ample, creamy and voluptuous, with plenty of supporting tannin, the dark, brooding 2014 shows off the more potent side of the year while somehow managing to be both deep and wonderfully translucent. This is a tremendous Barolo from Andrea Oberto that needs time to fully come together and assimilate its oak.
