2010 Limited Edition Napa Valley

Bright, deep ruby to the rim. Very ripe, even a bit port-like, on the nose, offering aromas of kirsch, black raspberry, licorice pastille, menthol, fresh herbs and violet. Plush, broad and sexy on entry, then quite full and concentrated but not heavy in the middle, with flavors similar to the aromas. Some dark chocolate adds sex appeal and sweetness to this slightly medicinal wine. Finishes with broad, dusty tannins and lingering medicinal black fruits, herbs and licorice. Plenty of density and power here but not a blockbuster. Aged for 24 months in new French oak.
