Tasting notes
Ripe and demonstrative, the 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Abbaye de Morgeot bursts with aromas of grapefruit, white flowers, pear, anise and fresh pastry. Medium to full-bodied, rich and open-knit, it's an easygoing white that wears its heart on its sleeve.

The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Abbaye de Morgeot 1er Cru has a clean, precise bouquet with white flowers infusing the yellow plum and citrus peel aromas. The palate is well balanced, conveying a honeyed texture on the entry. There is good weight here, but my one criticism is that it feels a little short on the finish.
No village Chassagne. From clay soils at the foot of the slope, so it does well in hot years. Tank sample. High-toned, racy and lively. Very Chassagne with great energy. Salivatory. (JR)
