2011 Echezeaux

(from vines planted along a north-south axis in the relatively cool, breezy climat Les Champs-Traversins): Bright, dark red. Brisk peppery lift to the aromas of black fruits, violet and licorice. Densely packed and juicy, with an almost liqueur-like ripeness to the creamy black fruit and violet flavors. Slightly high-toned and savory. Finishes with sweet tannins and excellent floral length. This is fun to taste right now.
